Distributorless ignition tune-up?

Recommended Posts

nothing. PCV (use subaru only on this), air filter and fuel filter aren't a bad idea depending on miles.

Tsk tsk tsk

A tuneup is:

Fuel Filter

Air Filter

PCV vlave

Ignition Wires (OE)

Spark Plugs (OE type).

The only thing that is gone is cap/rotor and points.

OK. So ignition coil is not a part that should be regularly replaced?

I get some rough miss between 2-3 speeds, but it idles well and runs well at full throttle. I am doing all of the above, but should I also look at the coil, at least visually?

Yeah, tune up first. All cheap parts that could probably use changing anyway. When I purchased my 96 2.2 outback, it had a miss during acceleration too. I pulled the plugs which looked about as perfect as a plug can look except for having a gap of about a 1/2 inch. Put new ones is and the miss was gone. I didn't have a CEL though so you should definitely check that out.

Good Luck!
