1998 Rs Transmission

Ive had a 1998 Subaru 2.5 Rs 5 speed Transmission laying in my garage for a while now, So if i later planned an EJ22 Swap, What would be need to done to fit that transmission in my car?

 

1985 Subaru Gl 2 Door Hatchback, EA81, 4 speed, 4wd.

 

Im assuming instead of having 4wd/4lo, it would be full time 4wd/AWD?

well, first off, what i know of it requires modification for the tranny crossmember .that entails what you wish to mount it with,old school or new school mounts.

 

then of course linkage,how you wish to go about it. i mean, you have to look at these things logically

 

take the time to get any extra parts you can, and think of how important it is to you to do this modification.that will determine how much you truly wish to figure out.

but just asking what is needed is like asking how to go fishing.it is a very open ended question.

i am sure you can think of a lot of things that are needed for this swap.if you ask more specific questions, you might get more specific answers.there is alot of info onthis site,and there is a great part of this forum called " retrofitting"
