Greenley Posted December 11, 2008 Share Posted December 11, 2008 1984 GL Wagon California Emmissions I'm swapping a weber, and i ran into something i had no idea existed. The shiny threaded hole - it had a "brass" hardline connecting to the intake manifold, via extrenal threads (like a bolt). How can i cap this off? Would i even want to? I presume so, as the prepped weber manifold i have, has the intake side of the femaile fitting filled with epoxy. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Jerry DeMoss Posted December 11, 2008 Share Posted December 11, 2008 Since you are in cali I wouln't recomend plugging off the egr port on the ea81 head. Some emissions testing places may spot that and not like that, but if you aren't worried about that you can go to the hardware store and get a metric plug that would fit that hole. mcbrat Posted December 11, 2008 Share Posted December 11, 2008 that's where the EGR pipe goes. it's on every ea81 I have had, and yes, you can block it off. especially since as Jerry pointed out, your EGR valve is gone and blocked off as well.... just need to get the right metric threaded bolt. an allen head set screw type bolt is "proper" Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
