Does someone have a driveline to measure?

Recommended Posts

I need to know that the length of the front piece of both the 4EAT and the 3AT driveshafts are. If one or both are about 2" shorter then the manual driveline, then I'll be in business.

Anyone have a chance to measure one for me? Gloyale? Turbone?

I can't really get to a wrecking yard right now since the weather is crappy and I'm riding my bike.:-\

Ummm, the only one I have is currently still on the car and its not exactly nice enough out for me to be crawling under to measure :-\

I can check my parts book and see what it has tho...

Edit*...No, it didnt show lengths :-\

But most of them were the same length for the 4EAT.

I can measure the 4EAT one I have in a little bit, maybe tomorrow morning. Don't have a slip yoke on it, so I can just tell you distance between the front two universals if that helps.

That would be awesome. I have a manual one to compare it to and hopefully it's the shortened distance I need:banana:

Ok, centerline of the forward universal to centerline of the support bearing is 16". Distance between the universals is roughly 19", I couldn't get that one accurately though. Something about holding the flashlight and tape and laying on wet lava rocks............

Well I busted out my FSM to see if they might possibly be in there nd low and behold, I found lengths. Unfortunatly, the auto driveline is 4.73" shorter then the manual driveline which is over twice the amount that it needs to be shorter. I needed about 2" so now its time to find a place that'll do the shortening for reasonable. Anyone in the Seattle area have any recommendations?
