bratman18 Posted December 18, 2008 Share Posted December 18, 2008 I want to get a decent set of plug wires for my Brat but I'm not sure what to get. I have the SPFI conversion and also have 3-4" of lift. The ones I have are working ok but I don't know what they were actually bought for. And the coil wire is a little short do to the lift. idosubaru Posted December 18, 2008 Share Posted December 18, 2008 if you're looking for high quality wires - go with Magnecor, they are awesome. i put them in every vehicle i own and have put 150,000 miles on one set before. you might even be able to ask about checking the length of the coil wire or supplying you with a longer one. or take your wires to Subaru and compare the lengths, particularly the one for the coil. can you just move the ignition coil, make a little bracket adapter or something? idosubaru Posted December 18, 2008 Share Posted December 18, 2008 i'm with GD and would go with the NGK sets unless you're really sure you'll use them for 100,000 - 200,000 miles like i do, which is why i go with Magnecor, but most people don't put that many miles on a set probably. mountaingoatgruff Posted December 18, 2008 Share Posted December 18, 2008 fwiw, i slotted the lower bolt hole of the EA82 coil bracket and was able to mount it where the original coil was located so it would be close enough that i could use my regular EA81 wire set. i don't know if that helps since your brat's lifted, though.
