()__1337_CRAYOLA__()>
sounds like she caught traction while spinning the tires and ripped the subframe apart....

Sounds like the front lift blocks that lift the plates for the strut rods has ripped out of the body. Its a pretty common problem from what I hear with lifted Subarus. Thats gonna be my guess since you also mentioned the tranny is hanging which is where the tranny crossmember bolts to IIRC.

Caboobaroo
well...... if it has truely ripped out of the body, you're kind of in a bad spot since the subframe where you're talking about bolts INTO the body. It rips the welded captive nut through the sheetmetal of the body and leaves a torn hole from where it used to be. It'll be trying to mend what ripped instead of replacing it. You can also try making it stronger when you repair it though.
thermalsurfing1
i had a chance to look at it a little better, it looks like the blocks are still on the frame but the part that bolts to the other side of the blocks tore out. sorry i am new :confused:but learning every day.... what part do you think it is ? Caboobaroo
See my above post. If the blocks are still attached to the subframe then they have indeed ripped from the body.
thermalsurfing1
my bad. they are attached to the body not the frame
subiemech85
there is NO FRAME, just BODY, unless you add subframe have a good look later when it's warmer and brighter, and take pictures

Caboobaroo
Craigslist is your friend. There's a fair amount of EA81s that I see for real cheap with blown headgaskets or ones with the need of rebuilt carbs. Your lift will fit under any EA81 4wd car be it a hatch/Brat/wagon/coupe/sedan

[HTi]Johnson
...i just took out the engine and trans today ! now i can really see whats going on. :eek:Why? I hope it wasn't just to fix the body. Because it should be easy to do with everything in, only a few pieces removed. Good luck though, do you have a welder? I know how to weld, I used to get paid to do it at an iron shop... I may be willing to help out.
The Dude Abides
You might as well reinforce the whole thing while your under there. See McBrats off road project in the off road section.
