Markus56
I was curious what the gear reduction was for a Dual Range 5 speed transmission. If someone could fill me in that would be awesome.

monstaru
well, 1st means first gear 2nd means second gear....etc.... are you looking for the final drive ratio?that would be 3.9 or 3.7...... the reduction?are you talking low range?for a 3.9 tranny it is 1.592 3.7 tranny is 1.196 you have to be more specific.learn about what you are trying to ask and folks are more than welcome to help you.do you want a class on how reduction works?i mean,ok you don't know what you are looking at......do you know what you are looking for? in these vast interwebs we gots all kinds a' knowledge yo.but you have to know what you are looking for to get a straight answer. most of us are willing to give it.if we can.cheers, brian
idosubaru
brian is right. there are gear ratios for each gear, final drive ratios for the differentials and then ratios for the high and low range, and then various combination of these give various actual ratios for the entire drive train, so you need to be more specific. quoting one number still might not get you what you want based on the other numbers so to speak. since you don't understand how these things work you might want to tell us what you're trying to do and we can start there? Phizinza
Low range reduction on PT4WD 5sp trans is 1.59 to 1. Low range on FT4WD is 1.19 to 1. 4sp's are 1.46 to 1 If you look at the chart, you can see it has a "Low Range" field and it shows what your asking for.
