  • 2 weeks later...

just noticed this post....and pulled out my XT FSM.

XT6 = 500kg

then compared to a '93-'96 impreza list. and the disc dimensions are 100% identical between a 4WD XT and an AWD EJ (OD x ID x Thickness: 225 x 150 x 3.5. spline OD 25.2, 24 splines.)

And these dimensions are the same as my clutch for my 92 Loyale..... 225MM 1" shaft 24 spline etc. etc. etc. So, what u are saying is that an EJ clutch would be the same as a 4WD ea?

only the disc. although that really isn't news.

note: I checked an '02 impreza FSM. and the N/A discs are all the same dimensions, EXCEPT they use a 25 spline shaft.

Spec has about 6 different available clutch kits for EA82s. I just wish they had max torque listings for them.....

not news, but also not mentioned

no 25 spline listed for valeo and centerforce !!

spec no catalog to page through, also don't list details

excuse me. I miss-quoted that. 88 XT says 25 spline shaft. 02 impreza says 24.

04 impreza says 24. 99 legacy says 24.

this confuses me, as I was fairly sure that Ej clutch discs would work on an EA. guess I'll have to take an extra EA 4WD disc over to my buddy's place tomorrow and see if it will work on the 04 WRX trans he's got.

"does anyone have the spec. for ea82 and xt6 flywheel step?"

Ive taken meat off of quite a few of these (EA82T and XT6s)

and the step is the same.

I do take an extra 0.020" off the PP mounting lip

but too much and the PP will not release the disc

thank you,

and

that's affirmative sir

I take about 6 lb off of the EA82T's flywheel.

Less off of an XT6 as they are already lighter by a couple pounds.

I do not offer this service at this time.

Mick, the ones I have worked on are all EA82Ts

Is the flywheel part number different for a D/R vs a Turbo

I may have an XT6 and a EA82T in the shop.

I'll double check what my old timers brain

thinks it remembers.

Thanks Mick, I sit corrected

I have only worked on two XT6 flywheels

and a half dozen or so EA82T units.

I guess it is a possibility that the XT6 units were

cut incorrectly before I worked on them.

I'll save your posted chart for future work, thanks again.
