OK, so I've read on here that the lights for the environmental controls are prone to going out in my model of car. I've even found and saved the super cool link to the write up on how to fix it (thank author who I can't remember at this moment). Mine have been out since I've owned the car (3 years) and I never really cared since the order of them is the same as just about every other Japanese car I've owned (it's the most efficient use of space, thanks to Nipper for that bit of info) so I know where they are without having to look at the symbols. But I thought I would tackle it since the buttons are getting a little sticky (the recycle button super so).

While I was cleaning my car the other day I noticed that the symbols for the vent selection looked (and felt) painted on which leads me to ask this possibly stupid question. Do the symbols light up? The little green lights underneath work, always have, but the symbols themselves as well as the fan knob are dark. But I don't know anybody else with my year range legacy type interior so I've never seen what they are supposed to look like.

OK, I'm done rambling, thanks:)

hey will, was that info easy to find here?

if they're hard to find i'd love the links to where you read about it. i'm on dial up so no poking around right now.

glad to know the info is out there, my friends and my grandmothers both do this. she doesn't drive at night so i'm not too worried about hers though.

Hey Evo, you don't happen to have the part number handy, the dealer is quite a haul from me so I'd like to order them online if I can.

Thanks!

FYI, lost, Radio Shack bulbs work just fine (and are a lot cheaper!) The part number is in one of the responses to the guy's writeup.

And don't mess around with the retaining clips on the slide lever cable--it unhooks very easily from the bottom end.

Good luck.
