toganet
Hey guys, I am pretty new here, but I thought I would ask the wise Subagurus here for some input. My friend has a '93 Impreza FWD Auto with about 200k miles on it. About six months ago, the gas tank sprung a leak on his way home from work, so he limped home and parked it. It has been sitting ever since. I could probably get this car for free -- I would just have to tow it to my place around the corner. I'm wondering whether it is worth it, though. Any ideas on cool things I could do with this car? Aside from the fuel issue, it was running great, and we had just put new front brakes on it. I don't really need this car -- but I need a project, as I am sure you can understand.
The Dude Abides
First off, welcome to the USMB. 2nd this guestion probally would better be suited in the new gen section. 3rd. Any free car is a deal. If you could score a gas tank from a junkyard and install it youself you would have a decent running car. There are lots of upgrades you can do to the imprezas which you can find out about in the new gen section. Around here guys take newer gen stuff and gut them out for there ea82 off road rigs. nipper
It may not be a gas tank leak as much a filler neck issue. Snag the car and replace the filler neck or tank. Its a great deal. nipper
The Scooby
get the car, worst case you replace the tank and lines, on the FWD its CAKE work. get the car and enjoy. or since you will have to drop the tank ether way change it to AWD.
