clantieri
Just got a quote to ship my 84 wagon to Las Vegas from CT (moving soon). $895! Do you guys know a inexpensive shipping company? Otherwise that car may be sold...I'd hate to do it, though. Chris
mcbrat
that sounds about right for that distance.... I've used http://www.aactionmovers.com in the past. they had the best rates at the time....
soobme
Go to google and do a serch on car transporting, I got a quote once to ship an EA81 wagon from MO to OR for $435. I don't remember the CO. but that was door to door, and it was only 5-4 mo. ago. Other than that, U might talk to a large car lot chain with lots in each place and see if there is any chance they would ship it for ya for less. (I did that once with Lithia)

mtsmiths
Hook it up behind the U-Haul truck, load the Subie on the trailer ... and then fill it up with all the stuff that wouldn't fit in the van! You're probably not going to find a shipping price that would make it 'financially' viable to keep the car ... emotionally, that's another issue. calebz
WHen I moved about 6 months ago, the average price to haul a car from WA to TX was around $1000. So I sold or gave away all the cars except the turbowagon. Loaded all of our posessions on to a semi cargo trailer.. that turned out to be a touch cheaper than renting a Uhaul, plus I didn't have to drive it... then I drove the soob to TX.. PM me if you want more details
MorganM
didnt someone post here that you can drive a subaru up into a U Haul truck (15 footer?) if you fold in the mirrors? dunno if that would be any cheaper. honestly its gonna cost alot any way you cut it

LegacyT
Anybodu know of good international shippers? I plan on buying an RX in the states, since I can't for the life of me find one here. Mark,
junkyardgabe
you might want to try a tow truck company because some of them transport long distance because that seems high because there's a company here that will transport a car from florida-maine for only $
WagonsOnly
LegacyT, you're going to have to ask someone at the Canadian Department (Ministry?) of Transportation for a list of "registered gray market importers" that will be able to modify your RX to meet Canadian specs for instrumentation and markings (the door jamb labels will have to be changed, as will the instrument cluster). In the States (Canada to USA) only importers are authorized to legally convert cars. If I were you, I'd keep looking...
GeneralDisorder
Friend of mine bought a car on eBay, and had it transported from wisconsin to oregon - cost was less than $700. That was last year. And it wasn't a tiny car either - about the size of a soob - 98 Audi A6 Quatro. You just have to look around - search for the best price.
