frogstar7055
How much lift, how did you do it. how long did it take. 2" of lift. I'm a machinist. Worked on it off and on for about 3 months.
bratman18
It does look good! Do you have any pics of the actual lift that you made and installed?

Here you go. 2" of lift with .236 offset. It rides and tracks perfect, get wheel alignment Tuesday. Fronts(not yet painted) Rear I actually washed it for this shot(not something I'm usually inclined to do).
bratman18
Very nice!! You should whip up a few sets and sell them!!
frogstar7055
Just a side note, My CV's were original's (115000mi). They fronts made noise and vibrated so I replaced them both and now it's smooth as glass. I think the old CV's were worn to the angle they had run at all those years and didn't like the change in angle. Rears seem fine but I'll probably replace those as well before to long. It probably wouldn't be to hard to whip up some blocks for the crossmembers as well to correct the cv angle

Gloyale
It probably wouldn't be to hard to whip up some blocks for the crossmembers as well to correct the cv angle Yeah, but then he'd be right back to stock clearance at the diffs.
bratman18
Yeah, but then he'd be right back to stock clearance at the diffs. Yup, but if he has any problems with CV angle it wouldn't be too hard to correct it.
frogstar7055
Yeah, but then he'd be right back to stock clearance at the diffs. More than a thousand miles and A-OK. In future may make 4' strut top spacers and go 2" on everything else. More involved than that I know but I like making mods.
mountaingoatgruff
In future may make 4' strut top spacers and go 2" on everything else. 4 feet!!! but really, how hard was it to make these? as in, how did you calculate offset?
frogstar7055
4 feet!!! but really, how hard was it to make these? as in, how did you calculate offset? 4 foot! I must be nutz:banana: I asked a lot of questions of our Aussie brothers and trigged it out myself and came up with 6mm of offset. Worked but not quite enough, had to put camber bolts in rear. Should have went 7mm. (3.5mm per inch of lift)
thatswhatshesaid
So, old buddy...what's the likelihood you'll be pumping out a few more of these kits for us to buy?
frogstar7055
So, old buddy...what's the likelihood you'll be pumping out a few more of these kits for us to buy? Was a lot of work, had to use some equipment at my work and can't do that all the time. Jackson Rally over on dirtyimpreza.com makes a 1" lift and is supposed to be working on a 2" kit as well. lostinthe202
How about an update? Any axle problems? How about your mileage? Auto or manual? Thanks! Will-
superu
+1 I'm curious how your axles are dealing with the new angles and forces of the lift. OOH and I'd like to hear your perspective on the phantom grip, now that you've been running it for a while in different conditions, on and off road. Thanks! -mw-
frogstar7055
Got about 4000mi on the lift and all CV's are fine. Don't have the Phantom grip, was just considering it. I have done the 4eat lock(sorta)switch and that works FANTASTIC in soft loose sand. Done a lot of mods, wouldn't go back on any of them.
lostinthe202
Sweet, good to know. How's your mileage?
frogstar7055
17 to 20mpg in town depending on how heavy my right foot is at the time. 24+ mpg on the highway depending on where the cruise is set, headwinds, etc. Highest I've got was 28mpg out of a tank on the highway coming back from WV.
