jeep5.9litre
Hey guys, just picked up a 95 Legacy for a winter beater. Its got a 2.2 with around 115k on it. I noticed yesterday while at idle it is making a weird almost rattling sound. The sound quickly goes away when the car gets up over 1500RPM's. Seems like it just started and I have been driving it for around a week. Also seems to go away when the wheel is turned completely to the left or right. What could this be? There is also a weird whirring sound coming from the rear when driving down the road...What coulod these be? Any help would be appreciated!! bratman18
Heat shield on the exhaust rattling and the whirring is most likely a rear wheel bearing
Rooster2
Heat shield on the exhaust rattling and the whirring is most likely a rear wheel bearing Ditto on above. The heat shield tinny rattlie noisy is easily self fixed. Search the archives on this subject at this website. A lot has been previously posted on how to fix the rattle. It is pretty simple.
