Uberoo
I was thinking about building some 4' ATV ramps to help get unstuck.Nothing special there but I was planning on mounting them to the roof with some sort of quick disconnect system. How can I secure them to the roof so they don't bang around up there and then are fast and easy to get free?I imagine they would help alot. kellyray
If you could build some kinda bracket you could use a lock pin! They work very well and easy/quick to release. Just make sure you drill the right size hole.
bratman18
What exactly would they be mounted to?

bratman18
the roof. :lol:of what though? Is it a wagon? or a hatch? Does it have roof racks? If it has roof racks than you could rig something up to bolt onto or clip onto those securely. If not Maybe you could install some roof racks from a donor car and then rig something up. I don't see a way to mount to the roof unless you drill holes, and I dunno if I would do that unless you were mounting some racks.
TeamCF
Two different styles. The second "Sand Ladder" style is actually pretty much the same stuff they used in WW2 to make temporary airstrips in the pacific. (pierced steel planking / Marston Mat) Can be had proly pretty cheap (relatively) from some surplus stores. Looks like the mounting kit is the same for both. Just thought it'd give ya some ideas. http://landroverparts.us/landroverparts/BridgingLadder.html http://landroverparts.us/landroverparts/LRsandLadder.html little info on the matting: http://www.pacificwrecks.com/airfields/landing_matt/index.html Edited January 23, 2009 by TeamCF
