The Scooby
I'd reclock them a couple notches so it sits a hair lower then the front, then crank them back up with the adjustment to get your ride height:) nice tip, that would look great if the back was brough down about 1-2inches, as well as some taller tires to fill out the wheel wells better. edrach
While we're thinking of lowering the rear....Don't lower it too much; if you're planning on carrying a load in the back you don't want the suspension dragging on something.
TheSubaruJunkie
So I put the Brat to work today. This should help with the fender gap
newsoobdude
I like your gas door. Did you do that or did it come like that? I'll be doing that to mine as soon as I find a good button for mine. How does next Monday sound for our get together? pm me. PS- your BRAT does look hella nice, especially with the rims:headbang:
bratman18
That's a wagon/hatch gas door. The Brat's actually came with a different one. The Brat looks good all leveled out like that, but it's sooooo low! But it does look nice!
TheSubaruJunkie
Yeah, the Gas door came to me like that... i know the front of the truck is from a '83 Wagon, don't know what year the brat half is. I assume any wagon/sedan/hatch gas door would work though. And I also like how it sits with the rear lowered. Just not motivated enough to make the necessary modifications to keep it that way. NV Zeno
Not motivated to make mods? Brian, you're slippin'. -- That's a mighty fine looking BRAT, I've still gotta get down there and meet it sometime soon. Just my 2 bucks
TheSubaruJunkie
Yeah, odd huh Dave?? Something about this one, I don't feel like butchering it like the many other Subaru's I've owned in the past.

subynut
Beautiful brat Brian! That is cool! I think my next subaru purchase will be a brat. Where I will put it, is another question.:-\ There's a turbo brat in the back 40 of one of the local car lots here, just begging me to take it home, but I have no place for it. We are already at 8 right now and we look like the local used subaru lot.
TheSubaruJunkie
so when you gonna lift it and beat the crap out of it!!! nice brat cant wate to see it... -=Suberdave=- www.suberdave.com NEVER!! Wirebrush
What's a set of those wheels worth? I may know where to get a set that's in great shape.
TheSubaruJunkie
They are worth whatever somebody is willing to pay for them. I'll tell you, they are getting harder and harder to find.
Durania
Brian those wheels really set that BRAT apart. How long before you drop you a t-top roof in there?
TheSubaruJunkie
Never. I will just have to make due with out
ShawnW
As somebody that has a California Brat in the driveway I can definately see what Brian is saying about not modifying it. There really is something precious about having one that hasn't been altered and that you can just hop in and drive. I put a modern stereo in mine and a 4spd D/R trans in and thats it so far. I haven't hardly been tempted to even. I like how it runs and drives and it helps that its a Turbo brat but otherwise I just like that its a Brat and its super reliable. Mine is also far too nice to modify like the one Brian has is. It would be a crime to lift mine if you ask me.
TheSubaruJunkie
I wish mine was all original, however it is more modified as it sits now, than I could ever do on my own. Its not an original brat by any means, but still... its too pretty to lift and beat up.
The Beast I Drive
It is a very nice Brat, when are you going to get a stripe kit on there? And I guess I cant really say anything about the lower profile tires, I just slapped a set of 186/60-13s on my RX... It would look good with a small lift just for novelty, like 2" or so, but it is your car and its a damn nice one -Bill
TheSubaruJunkie
Thanks Beast. I am working on getting the Targa stripe. I want to find a shop that will install it. I dont want to risk screwing it up. And I agree on the tires. they ride real nice... but now that I have the rollbar installed it looks a tad goofy. And I am planning on getting a pushbar as well. I am tossing around the idea of a mild 2" lift. Nothing too big, just enough to comfortably fit some 14" rims and a tad larger tires.
The Beast I Drive
I just ordered a set of 14" Series 61 Ultra wheels, the solid aluminum ones, for my RX, and I plan on going with a 235/60-14 or so tire, maybe something like that would be kinda up your alley? -Bill
TheSubaruJunkie
Maybe. I have to focus now on getting a new wheeler for the upcomming season.
P K
Oh Brian.... we are so on the same page. I just lifted mine 2 inches only. I have those 14" Pug alloys you sold me last year (or two ago), now with Kuhmo 25" tires. (I completely stripped the Pugs and repainted). I have a black roll bar and white (soon to be black) OEM A-bar. Drives nice - this will be an excellent daily driver (except for no A/C ). I will get some pics this weekend to share.
