Snowman
I went to check on the cost of getting some SPFI pistons to put in the carbed ea82 I'm rebuilding for Roxanne, and subaru wants roughly $90 per piston. That seems ludicrous, especially since the entire rebuild kit from NAPA cost me $205 with my student discount. Where can I get OEM-quality pistons from without having to pay an arm and a leg for them?
JonOfScio
How detailed is the rebuild kit? I say just grab a rebuild kit. Post a message on the marketplace - maybe has some they can't get rid of.
edrach
Try Emily at ccrinc. She could advise you of sources and prices.

Dr. RX
You could also try http://1stsubaruparts.com/ , they show a piston and pin for around $46.00, but a complete ring set is $157.00.
garner
Yes, 1stsubaruparts.com or subaruparts.com both are dealers in the northwest that do web and mail order. I just ordered a set of oversized pistons for $48/ea. These are genuine SOA cast pistons. I bought rings (beck arnley) at napa for about $50 a set You might also try Ram Performance. The airplane guys. They seem to have some good deals on re-ring kits, cast pistons, forged pistons etc.
