wentz912
Soooo I spotted a white RX in the yard across the street from mi padres house. Just from talking to my dad, the neighbor has told him that the turbo is toast. THe car looks pretty clean inside and out, what's it worth? And anything I should look for in particular with the RX over the other models of that generation?
subiemech85
$100 should snag it, and $100 for a turbo LSD!!
Txakura
you better snag it before I do even if i have to drive to Kelso and cruise every street looking for it
Turbone
If it hasnt been sitting for a long time (especially on grass) and not all moldy inside, then the guy probably isnt going to go for a lowball price. Talk to him and tell him you have wanted one for a long time, etc. Get more info on the mechanicals, has it ever overheated, etc? EA82 turbo's are plentiful around these parts, but I suspect more than that is wrong with it.
EvilDead
I'll trade ya a 67 Chevy C-10 for it!!! Was running before I took out the starter...
wentz912
Hmmm...is the C-10 2wd or 4wd? Actually the deal I'm working to get is to have my dad buy it, get it running/taken care of or whatever, and then trade my dad my wagon.

coxy
i'll trade an '82 F-250 XLT for it let the bidding begin! I'll raise you the 200 gallons of gas that sucker will devour in a week. ha ha If it's a clean RX Turbo it is worth whatever you feel it's worth to you, another project car for all to get involved with,an another Subie where it belongs on the road with an appreciative owner,if the body is clean how can you go wrong,EJ conversion or WRX turbo and Intercooler only your imagination is the limit,go for it before the clown's in power ban all fun. Txakura
I'll raise you the 200 gallons of gas that sucker will devour in a week. That's why God gave it dual 19 gallon tanks! So you only had to fill up every other day! I am agreeing with coxy, an RX would have a strong value for me - not just in terms of money. Unfortunately, RX or not, it's a non running used car with a broken turbo. $100 and I'll take it off your hands type deal... I'd really like the running gear from the transmission to the rear wheels, if the body is super clean I'd consider replacing the engine, just my ideas for my situation. send me a pm if you want, I'd like to chat, and coxy; g'day
wentz912
I haven't actually gotten to speak with the owner yet. He wasn't home when I walked over there with my dad to speak with him. I have a question on the RX bit though. I could see through the back window, where the carpet was pulled back, what looked like a strut tower formed into the unibody? looking in the wheel well it looks to have the same coil overs as my 86 wagon. Is this normal?
subaruguru
well if it had air strus someone probly had them replacedwith regular shocks

The top mount for the strut is on the top/side of the wheel well.
