P K
Hello All, Brian's latest Brat is a gem, and I have its ugly twin sister. So here are my latest pics as promised - sorry for the low quality. I have installed a 2" lift and 25" tires on Pugs. Brian, I have square lights on roll bar vs round - maybe you can try photoshopping yours with square lights to see how it would look to eliminate the Mickey Mouse ears look? r/ PK Edited February 14, 2009 by P K

By the way, your recent turbo sale was one of the comparables I used to justify a better settlement with the insurance company on our totaled DL. P K
Thanks guys. She's only ugly if next to Brians... she looks good in the photos, but you can see freckles up close... but I still wouldn't kick either of them out of my, er garage. Ed, glad the Ins Co had some heuvos to capitulate. Brats are a niche collectible, and as more people restore them, they will gain pricing status. Thank you, ebay. Mine is a daily driver, and unfortunately to have original wheels and tires means taching 10,000 rpm on the freeway, lol. So it is not prudent for me to restore, but installing a small lift and proper tires (to cruise at 75) really makes this one drive wonderful (82 has close ratio 4-speed). r/PK

Brats are a niche collectible, and as more people restore them, they will gain pricing status. Thank you, ebay. Well, they didn't capitulate until we took their insured to small claims court. Judgment easily went against them and it appears we'll be able to collect; that's the next step. And yes, ebay is a blessing in disguise. Although it pays to print out the final price since ebay scuttles the information after 3 months. VINbee.com gave me 51 pages of ebay sales for Brats for the last three years, but I couldn't get details on 99.9% of the sales from that. In any event, I'm starting to hard copy every ebay and craigslist ad I see to start a file to go up against the insurance companies that are playing hardball with those of us unfortunate enough to have an accident that totals the car. NADA is certainly not a help with their unusually low valuations for the Brats.
4x4_Welder
Edrach's BRAT pricing and information resource- That should really help out those in the future.
TheSubaruJunkie
Patrick, that Brat looks propper lifted 2" I have been thinking about giving mine alittle lift to make it look more like a Truck. I think 2" will be perfect. Did you drop the engine xmember when you did the lift?? I'd like to try and leave the crossmember in position so I can still use a OEM pushbar, but I guess I could always modify the pushbar if needed. bheinen74
which pushbar. mine is a oem brushguard push bar, and its mounted on my 4" lifted BRAT.....check out my photobucket but it should not matter, maybe your pushbar is different, but just make some 2" bracket drop bars and it would still be okay. lift it, good luck we are here to help and encourage. TheSubaruJunkie
Naw its not like yours. Its an A type pushbar, doesnt cover the headlights. And it doesnt mount to the tow hooks like yours, it uses the 2 bolts that hold the engine crossmember to the body. When you drop that crossmember, it drops the pushbar and doesn't fit propperly. Yes, routine lift -2" strut tops, 2" crossmember spacer, etc. - but only spaced the diff hangar in the rear an inch, and cranked the torsion bar a few turns for the best stance with minimal rake. All my axle angles are stock and will love you long time. My A-bar (short style) looks to bolt to the tow hooks, no prob w/lift - so you must have the long style A-bar which has better protection, but conflicts with lift. I don't have an immediate solution, sorry. On another note, to take care of the pesky cracked dash syndrom, I got this DL dash cover on ebay, fits great - made to order any color - $28 delivered within 5 days. I ordered charcoal, which was lighter than I thought, (I didn't want black and I didn't want gray) but turns out it matches the Sube gray interior almost perfectly. TheSubaruJunkie
Yeah, i dont have one just yet... but that is the style I am looking for. I preffer the look of the Long style A bar over the short style. You still making lifts Patrick? I might be interested in getting one of them 2 inchers from you if you can.
