J A Blazer
My 2000 4-cyl A/T OBW has 120K; all original suspension components; never wrecked; new tires. If I'm going about 50 mph and back off the throttle, the car 'trembles' briefly as it decelerates. Also trembles/shakes at low speeds with uneven curb cuts, speed bumps, etc. What is the likely explanation? What bushings/mounts/etc. typically wear out by this mileage and might explain this problem? TIA.
nipper
There are these things called tune-ups. Thats the first place to start New OE wires New OE recomended plugs fuel filter PCV valve Air Filter If there is oil on the tip of the old plug wires you will need new valve cover gaskets and seals. Then after that if we still have an issue we will dig further. nipper
J A Blazer
Nipper: Thanks for the suggestion but all of that has been done within the past 10K. The 'tremble' that I describe is a suspension/engine mount/bushing sort of problem.

nipper
Maybe a u-joint going bad or a carrier bearing.
Rooster2
something as simple as tires wearing out?
ericem
Raise each wheel and wiggle it around to see if there is play. Also if you can get under the car shake the driveshaft and see if there is any play up and down which could indicate the carrier bearing.
