The Beast I Drive Posted March 4, 2009 Share Posted March 4, 2009 Hey all, my mom just bought a 81 Brat with a D/R 4 speed and EA81. Ive driven a few Brats in my time but this one seems to have lower gears than the others, it is revving 3000 RPM going 55mph in 4th where as the D/R 4 speed in my 85 Brat revs a little over 2500 RPM going the same speed. Did the 81 Brats with D/R come with 4.111 gears or do they just have a closer 1-4 gear set? -Bill Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

It's the gear ratio's of 3rd, and 4th gear that are diffferent. 1982, and earlier dual ranges have lower 3rd, and 4th gears.
