88xt6joe
My Cv's have started clicking even when I'm going straight down the road how much longer will they last? Joe
GeneralDisorder
There's really no way to tell - they could last for years that way. Are the boots torn? If not, then they could last a long time, since there's likely grease in there..... if they are, then it's only a matter of time before you snap the joint. If it's 4WD, you can just put it in 4 hi, and drive with the broken axle. GD
88xt6joe
The boots are torn and I've been driving with it clicking for at least 6 monthes now but I never heard it clicking well driving straight until yesterday coming home. If they break you say I can just put it in 4wd and get around huh. Well thats cool. The axles won't bang around will they? Joe
torxxx
I drove a set of axles tile they snapped on the front all boots were torn, filled them back up wth grease and made ducktape boots they clicked and ticked and popped.. and I ended gettin 6 more months out of then before the shafts actually snapped if it does, just tie it up.. not tight on the shaft.. let it hang so the shaft can still spin I then drove for 3 weeks with busted front cv joints in 4 high made drivin a lil more fun
