bratman18 Posted March 8, 2009 Share Posted March 8, 2009 So I got my alternator rebuilt and he tested it, and I installed it on my car and it's good. But, my battery light and my e-brake light stay on all the time. I have let it run for a long time, turned everything on, and it works great, so I am just wondering why these two lights are staying on. Any ideas? Those two lights will come on when there's an alternator field circuit problem. Do a search in this forum on 'alternator field brake', which will turn up a few related threads with the explanation. Yes it is, and I just fixed it. I looked into the main fuse panel and found the fuse labeled ALT. I pulled it out and sure enough it was blown. So I used one of the spares and it's all good!!!
