bratman18
what tire size is every one running with the outback lift? wife wants bigger tires. 27x9.50x14 or would the 28x8.5x14 would be better?? :-\ You will need 15's. The 14" wheels won't clear the brakes on the outback. Also are you talking about an Outback with a lift? Or a Legacy with Outback struts? bheinen74
subaru's rule of thumb is you cannot go down a wheel size from factory, only can go up in size. Due to the clearing of the brake calipers.
bratman18
Except on something like my RS. It comes with 16's but has the same brakes as an outback so 15's clear just fine. subaru's rule of thumb is you cannot go down a wheel size from factory, only can go up in size. cameron 1
i think a 27in tire is about as big as you should go if you go bigger you will have to do some cutting and replace ball joints more often and ya 15in wheel is the way to go 14 is to small
rtcaravan
its a 91 legacy with outback strut lift with trailing arm brackets also . it has 14" wheels on now. i found 27" tires in 14" and 15" both 9.50's are they going to be to wide with stock wheels? steel or alum. thought about chrysler wheels (same bolt pattern) but they have the wrong back spacing, they would hit the struts. looked at harry's u pull it and didn't have a complete set of 15" wheels off any subaru but they had about 15 alum. 5 spoke legacy wheels i do like though.
