Michael i couldn't find dual port manifold exhaust gaskets at advance auto so i had to go to the dealer. same for the doughnut after the cats. (96 y pipe, 97 cats & mid pipe). but i would have used them if i could have found them. single port gaskets and the one between the cats, in front of the cats should be available. davebugs Posted March 12, 2009 Share Posted March 12, 2009 I usually get fel-pro gaskets for the dual port heads and sometimes for the single ports I believe. The dealer is virtually the same price though. They just sell them seperately rather than the felpro 2 piece kit. Fel-pro is fine for exhaust (and intake) as far as I'm concerned. But no real price difference on the exhaust gaskets. FYI some independent shops can't seem to get the single port Fel-Pro's but Advance seems to be able to. You'd think since they are 96 and up it would be a pretty common listing. The parts stores are much closer than the dealer to me. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

idosubaru Posted March 13, 2009 Share Posted March 13, 2009 take your pick. in general the OEM gaskets are really nice, particularly the manifold to engine gaskets. they look solid and robust. the aftermarkets tend to look cheezeball and whimpy sometimes. but these gaskets rarely leak too, so it hardly matters really. actually, often times you can reuse the old gaskets without any leaking. i've done it bazillions of times. even old crustied up gaskets tend not to leak in my experience. maybe it's because i'm always repairing the stud threads and installing new bolts or something :rolleyes::lol: Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I've had the same experience with the dealer ordered single port got double. They told me to keep them and sent the right ones to me. I use all OEM gaskets.
