Uberoo
I have an idea of using a free 35 HP deutz two cylinder diesel engine to power a subaru offroad toy.I checked the specs and it makes 88 Lbs of torque which is close enough to the EA81 to not really matter. However, weight wise its a whole nother ballgame the little diesel weighs 155 KG or 341 LBS where the subaru weighs about 195 lbs.I wont need a radiator so that cuts like 30 lbs of weight difference off(radiator, water pump, coolant, etc). That still is a minimum of 116 lbs heavier.I will probally need some really strong springs to hold the front end up.I know ford tempo springs work in EA82's, I wonder if they would work in an Ea81?I suppose I could crank the suspension all the way up which might help a bit. Vehicle is question is an 84 GL 4x4 wagon... Edited March 22, 2009 by Uberoo
