When moving the lever down (to turn left) it just clicks real fast, and no lights blink. (no it is not the bulb). When you gently lift it up just a little bit, it will blink, but you have to hold it there or it will drop back down, or click into its "home" location. I am thinking there must be some contact that need cleaned. (had to do that on our power window lever in the door handle). Is this possible? I had our dealer check it, and he said the turn signal lever assembly needed replaced - $180.00. Anybody know if it can be cleaned? Thanks. DCor Posted May 6, 2009 Share Posted May 6, 2009 This sounds exactly like the problem I'm having, as of late, in my 2000 OBW. The hazards work, the right signal works. All bulbs are working fine. However the left signal clicks quickly, but no lights. If I play with it, it will work a few times in a row, but then stops again.....weird! Any other thoughts on this would be appreciated! gbhrps Posted May 6, 2009 Share Posted May 6, 2009 Check the bulb socket and the wiring harness to be sure that the bulbs are getting all of the juice required. Many cars today will double and triple their flash rates on one side of the car if there is even a slight resistance in the circuit somewhere. Just a hint when you go to replace the turn signal switch assembly: tie a string or wire to the old connector after you undo it and before you pull the wire back up through the steering column. It makes it so much easier to attach the string to the new connector and then pull the string to get the new turn signal wiring harness back down through the column. Good Luck!
