'84 Flat-Four
Had this thread started as a link to GT replacements.... http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=97429 So questions have arisen: Are there any differences between 84 & 85 gas tanks? Can an '85 GT replacement work on my 84 gl 4x4 (as long as the replacement is 4x4 spec'd)? Or at least make it work? My options seem to be JY (all rusted, but less than mine), dealer (big $$), radiator shop, or diy treatment. If this $76 gas tank can work for me... ... holy smokes, talk about making my day! please advise...
MilesFox
you need to have a 4wd gas tank, so the diff clears it. you can get away with a FWD gas tank if you had a good 3" lift kit
Gloyale
84 car will be an EA81 if the 85 is an EA81(hatch, Brat) it will work (although Hatch tank may be different from Brat?) If the 85 car is an EA82 (wagon, sedan, 3door coupe) it definately won't work.
