tailgatewagon Posted January 20, 2004 Share Posted January 20, 2004 ok a cuple of intercooler questions first is there a formula for figureing optimum intercooler size. secound can you put to big an intercooler on. will performance drop if its to big or wil flow become a problem?? im thinkin of this set up. ea82T wrx turbo. new crossover and down pipe. bost contorler to run 12-15lbs intercooler fo course. spider intake. let me know what you think. Dr. RX Posted January 20, 2004 Share Posted January 20, 2004 Yes there is a formula for figuring out the size of the I/C, but I can't remember it, it is in one of my books around here somewhere. The problem with using a WRX turbo is that it doesn't have the ability to attach the 90 degree angle piece that you need to an EA82T. Make sure that you find a turbo spyder intake, or have access to a machine shop to modify the N/A intake. If you can find an I/C for a 1800cc to 2200cc engine you should be pretty close with the right size I/C. The real thing to look for is how the I/C is plumbed (where the inlet and outlet are located), some may not work with teh Subaru layout. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
