Loyale 2.7 Turbo
my Hitachi sucks. It sucked when got the BRAT, rebuilt it, made a little improvement, now its back to suck. ... Seems Like Almost All Hitachi Carbs has that Behaviour when they become Old... So you have made a Good Decision. Fuel Injection could be done too, but that is a Little more complicated... I Have a Thread Full of Pictures, Procedures and Ideas about a Weber Swap on a EA82 ... it Might Help you. To Reach it, just Click in my Avatar, in my "Public Profile" is a List of my Main Writeups, there is the Weber one. Kind Regards, Good Luck! bheinen74
i was so pissed at the way this thing is down on power. Compared the throttle cable adjuster nuts on the BRAT vs my rescue wagon. Made the adjustment, and I have improvement. 20 foot burn out on the street on my snow tires just accomplished. I have some upper band power range back. I have to just get this thing fine tuned and running like the rescue wagon and i would be happy. But, this is a California BRAT, hitachi feedback crap and emissions crap and whatnot. So it may never get to a point i am happy w/o a weber 32/36 Should i go the next step and unplug the brain? another thing, the fuel pump seems to make a buzzing sound, maybe i should get a new one of those too. any help appreciated Edited April 21, 2009 by bheinen74
Spiffy
GD was advising me in my hitachi thread that disabling the feedback on the carb will cause it to run full rich... so you'd have to change the jets to the ones from a non-feedback hitachi... and since I'm probably already running full rich since I don't have an o2 sensor I decided to just get a weber... it's in the mail, should be here soon... (: just have to figure out how to connect the pcv hoses to it and I should be good... so long as I don't have a screwed up cat from running it that way for so long... guess I better get a flange welded onto my spare... --Spiffy
