JHH0511
Hello to all. I have a very elementary question... but one that has me stumped. Vehicle is a 1990 Legacy AWD wagon. I cannot get to the cigarette lighter to remove/test it. It is located just to the left of the radio/cassette deck in center of dash. Circuit tester shows no juice & I can't get to the back of the dash to see if the if the lighter is getting any power. Do I need to remove the radio to get at it? I know this sounds so easy... but I've tried several times & don't want to remove a lot of unnecesary items to get to it. Thanks in advance. Don't smoke... but sure could use the lighter to power my cell phone & other devices. Going through a lot of batteries.
Legacy777
check the fuses. If you remove the panel below the steering column that should give you a little more room to test things.
Setright
There is good access if you remove the black shrouding in the centre console. That means radio out - not sure what install you have - ashtray out, three screws to loosen the "roof" of the ashtray slot, and two screws to get the black plastic loosened. These two are "hidden" under the clock. The shroud is also clicked into place, so pull it out carefully. Check the fuse first, as Legacy777 says
