fuentearriba
I have a 1999 Forester and live in Spain. I bought an "EJ20T" second hand replacement engine but now not sure if the engine is for a later model. Would appreciate some help ( I could send some pictures of the engine)

Dr. RX
An EJ20T is a marketing code for those who sell aftermarket used engines. There is no such code used by Subaru, it is either an EJ20G, EJ20K, EJ205 or EJ207. And those are the order that Subaru released them also, the "G" was 1989 to 1998, the "K" was 1996 to 1998, I beleive that the "205" started in 1999, but I'm not sure when the "207" started production. The over lap onthe "G" and "K" was that the WRX wagons usually had the "G" until 1998, the sedan and coupe started using the "K" in the 97 model year (prodution started in 1996).
