bheinen74
Just wondering where everyone keeps there hvac control set when there is no need for heat, AC, or defrost. Is there an off setting? like now, in spring, i need no heat, no ac, no defrost. I guess i put the slide lever on the heat setting but temp control to cold. Makes no sense to have it set to heat, when its summer , but guess subaru wants us to have it on heat...
Twitch de la Brat
Are you referring to EA82 or EA81? My brat I just turn the fan off and leave the temp dial cranked over to hot. I also put it onto defrost, if I don't need any fan directed airflow. I also have a vent lever that allows air directly from outside, quite literally. I've had pine neeedles blow through my vents because of it. That's about all that I've had to do... Open the vent if its too warm, close it if its too cold. I'll post pics when I get some time. ihscout54
I set mine to A/C or bi level and keep the thermo on cold. Just leave the fan off and everything is off.

ihscout54
The A/C is controlled by the blower fan switch. It doesnt turn on till the fan is turned on. (at least thats how it is on mine)
Spiffy
I keep mine mostly on defrost with a little to the feet... this with the center dash vent allows air to flow all around... then I just adjust the heat dial for the season... for some reason I tend to keep the fan on a low setting even when I don't need it... I think it's the need for fresh air... and when it's really nice out I put all the windows down and blow the dog hair out... (:
