bgambino
70k Have a bunch of records from the original owner 30k i got the coolant treatment at 65k left side head gasket leaking and was replaced (sad that this still happens on a 2002) during the first year of ownership, one receipt states the cel coming on and car stalling--says"internal fault in ecm--remove ecm and send out for update" what does that mean--I never heard of it in jan of this year during a 60k servicing...one item states "fuel & emissions--replaced faulty AF sensor" --replacedp/n 22791aa00a $113---anyone know what that is? gbhrps
The ECM is the engine control module (the engine computer). Apparently they had the circuit board resoldered or reflashed the computer with newer software. This is a common fix on many different cars. As for the AF sensor, that's a new one that I'm not familiar with.
Olnick
The A/F sensor is a term sometimes used for the front O2 sensor. I think it stands for "Air/Fuel".
idosubaru
yep - part number look up shows Oxygen sensor, front oxygen sensor. and while looking it up these guys had one for $65, that's cheap for a Subaru O2 sensor: http://store.ncrally.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=191_133_140 Edited May 10, 2009 by grossgary
