Pacific NW one-way Subaru rental needed

Recommended Posts

I was hoping someone would know of a rental car company with a larger stable of Subarus, with the ability to reserve a specific vehicle brand, which in my experience does not include Hertz. Any other suggestions?

Hertz is one of the largest buyers of Subarus in the US.

It's impossible to reserve a specific brand or model as their fleet constantly changes hour to hour, so getting a Subaru is kinda "luck of the draw". You can however, call the reservation center or local office where you're picking the car up from a few days ahead of time and ask them to put into your reservation notes that you prefer a Subaru product. They're usually pretty good at working to fulfill a request like that, but not guaranteed that they'll even come across one of what you want..again, it's a little bit "luck of the draw".

So where are you landing, Seattle or Vancouver, they are over 100 miles apart? Also is that Vancouver, BC (which has a commercial airport) or Vancouver, WA (which does not have a commercial airport, but Portland airport is just across the river)?

My geographic description was admittedly imprecise. We disembark a cruise ship in Vancouver BC and spend a night with friends in Pt. Roberts WA, after which we need to obtain a rental car for a trip to Napa Valley CA. It appears that Bellingham WA is the closest city with any appreciable rent-a-car program; the Canadian-based outlets appear to frown on one-way rentals that end up outside of Canada.
