how many volts to the speedometer head?

Recommended Posts

99 Legacy

Intermittent Speedo.

I am recommending to friend to put voltmeter across the gauge.

When it stops working, read the handheld voltmeter monitoring the drive signal.

Good readings on the hand held, head is kapput.

Good Idea?

Is the signal millivolts, milliamps, volts or btu's per psi?

thanks

If you're going to go that far, just fix it. The speedo in my son's '99 Outback went intermittent. After living with it for almost a year, he took it out and re-flowed every solder connection he could find on the speedometer head. Some looked questionable, but he did them all. It's been good for 2,000 miles now.
