mike97 Posted May 29, 2009 Share Posted May 29, 2009 Hi guys .i got a 97 legacy with the 2.5 and it jumped time .and bent 2 valves .so i have tooken off the heads and did a complete valve job and got all new timeing gears (the whole timeing kit) when i took off the old belt it was loose I am hopeing thats the problem not so loose that its floping in the wind .ya know what i mean .the tencener was all the way out and frozz.so my question is what elce should i be looking for so that it doesent jump time .I am going to start putting it back togeather tomorow in the afternoon if its not raining .what do you think? Legacy777 Posted May 29, 2009 Share Posted May 29, 2009 Replace the tensioner, and make sure all the idler pullies are good. Over time the grease will dry up, and they can seize.
