If this is an ea82 car you should be able to get to the hood release from under the car and hook it eith a piece of wire or somthing similar. Then when you get the hood open, use the hood release that came out in your hand and hook it to the release mechanism and fish it through the grill. If I had a camera, I would take a picture, but I don't.

Thx a bunch that was easier than I thought. New problem though, I guess when I put my alternator in I didn't connect it :-\. I plugged it in and now I have no power at all. We tried to push start it, and even jump start it, both didn't work. I have been searching the forums for post about the same problem but nothing specific about my problem. I am guessing its a main fuse but when I bought the car I don't have the owners manual, have also checked the forums for that and nothing. I also just put a new battery in so pretty sure its not that.

If you tapped the hot lead (the bigger wire with looped connector) to anything

you will have shorted out and melted a fusible link.

I believe you have a fusible link box on the passenger's side of the engine

compartment, at least that's where my BRAT's is located.

There should be a a few wire underneath the cover.

If one has a silver stripe running along it, that's your culprit.

I just took a 60a sub fuse and connected it via some wire and wire clips.

All you need are a few chunks of 10 gauge wire, 4, 1/2 wide spade clips, and a compatible fuse.

I'll take pics of mine an upload them tomorrow.

Alright thx a bunch, that would help a lot I'm stuck right now trying to figure out if my battery is bad now cause apparently I have been running off just my batter, or if my alt is bad or if its the fuses, I do plan on converting the fuses to newer style ones. pics would be great.
