Rare Parts suspension bushings

Recommended Posts

As I am rounding up parts to restore this car, I noticed Rare Parts has a listing for front and rear control arm bushings that nobody else seem to have a listing for. Looking at the pictures they have on their website, they don't seem to match what's on the car. Plus, the car does not exactly have rear control arms per say. Anyone with any info on these?

The front control arm was changed in like 75, so the bushing may be different. I think there is a company in Australia thats putting together "longer" front control arms with upgraded bushings, mostly for off-roading duty, but I don't think that bushing is the same.

For the rear, which bushing does it list?

Im Thinking I will have to replace some suspention parts in my 1400 DL and GSR. being most of it is still original.

Here is the page I was looking at.

Go to online catalog and input 1973 Subaru GL and it will show the bushings in question and a lower ball joint. I tried to link direct but it shows as timed out when I do.

They don't look like anything I have on the car. Nice thing about Rare Parts is they are willing to reproduce old suspension bits. I know we had a group buy on lower ball joints for the Datsun Roadsters a few years ago and the part turned out fine. A rubber bushing is probably easier to make.

Ya, the front ones are the point that connect the control arm to the subframe, and those rear ones are the point that the suspension connects to the chassis on the rear. You can see the rear one in the fender well when the wheel is off.
