elmwood22
Thinking of replacing the struts in my 1995 legacy wagon, 156k.....just wondering if I should or need to replace all four or could I get away with replacing just the "problem child" or "children". For some reason, I am thinking I may need to replace all for at once due to the AWD, not sure if this is true. If someone could shed some light on the matter I would appreciate it. Also, what brands would you recommend? Something durable but not extremely expensive. Thanks.
nipper
Never replace just one strut, at the very least you do them in pairs. Replacing just one can make for very bizzare handling (that goes for any car). You car is old enough that you will need four of them. You can usually get a great price on KYB GR-2 struts if you search the net. nipper

davebugs
Don't forget to budget for alignment. I usually use Monroe Sensi-Trak's (sp?). Don't forget to check the mounting gizmo's. I replace as many of them as I do struts.
