HEy i got an 82' EA81 that im lifting for a wheeler. Since its going to be a wheeler and it has the d/r tranny can i weld up the spider gears in the rear diff and not have any issues during road driving. How complicated is it to weld up the gears.

If it's a daily driver, then the welded diff may not be the best choice. It will skip during sharp turns, such as parking lots and cause premature tire wear. You could always weld up a spare and just swap them out before wheelin.

I've been using a welded diff in my sedan with both axles in for about 6 months now. Although the car doesn't get much driving. I found pumping the 27" MT's up to 40psi in the rear really helped with screeches, heavy steering, and economy.

I'd take out a shaft but I've got a lot of dirt roads around my place and 3WD sucks...
