griffodean
Hi Everyone, I am changing my 1985 ea82 wagon from manual to power steering. Can anyone tell me if the crossmember needs to be changed as well. I realise that the mounting bushes are diofferent, but I am suspicious that the indent that the rack sits in is different between power and non power steering cars. Any info appreciated. zukiru
my manual steer XT has the bracket for the power steering lines on it. it's an 86 so you should have it too look over by the passenger strut tower.
griffodean
Yeah I have the brackets your talking about, what I want to know is whether the actual steering/engine crossmember is the same between the power and non power steer cars. Because the power steer rack is much thicker than the non power rack, it looks like where the steering rack sits in the cross member might be different. May be different between US cars and here in Australia to I guess!
