coupe
Hey Gang .What is the difference between the 85 computer box and the 87 box ive swapped them and the vortex runs slightly better. i was assuming that the mapping would be better as they improved the software with two years of more information to work with ..the serial numbers were the same but the last number was 6x24 on the
WJM
wait! That should not have worked! 85/86 is a completely different system (but still somehwat similar) than the 87+! The 85/86 uses a vane/flapper door style air flow meter, while the 87+ uses a Mass Air Flow sensor - MAF. Hm...ive got one sitting around, maybe I should try that, sicne my Euro ECU didnt work. Then again, you could have a really early 87 that was still a vane style system.
electryc_monk
the Euro ECU didn't work? care to email me? I got a wierd idea after reading that link you showed in a different thread..... P.S. sorry for tangenting away.... so back on thread..... seriously in the P-N-P thinking of SCU's with the same wire connector ports.. if the Euro/Jpn model is the sane connectors as the US and happen to be better then it goes to without saying that a 85/86 version should infact work akin to the idea that 87 oct. is okay but 91 is much better.... you see the metaphore now?
