bigo1966
Did the EA82's come with manual brakes? When i switch to the motorcycle engine im going to lose power brakes so ill need to ditch the booster. It would be great if i could just bolt up a manual brake cylinder, possibly from an EA81? Thanks.
GeneralDisorder
Nope - power brakes were used starting in the 70's.... possibly all the way back to the introduction of the EA series. GD
bobaru
in order to get your power brakes you can use a 12 volt vacuum pump like these http://biodiesel.infopop.cc/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/919605551/m/7331015712 http://www.instructables.com/id/convert-a-tire-inflator-type-air-compressor-into-a/ http://motors.shop.ebay.com/items/?_nkw=12+volt+vacuum+pump&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=&_newu=1&_sop=1 http://www.autoanything.com/brakes/69A3151A0A0.aspx Ive seen the fourth one or like used on heavyly camed motors with little to no vacuum Edited July 7, 2009 by bobaru
The Beast I Drive
If you want to go to manual brakes, like absolutely have to, for clearance issues or what not, the old old '71-73 EA series cars had manual brakes, i.e. Gen 1 stage 1s with EA62 or EA63 engines from 71-73 at least. Other years may have had them too. I dont know if the brake pots will work in a later EA car like your Sedamn, but you could look into that... -Bill
