I want your oppinion, WWII Dazzel Camo Paint Job (56k not today)

Recommended Posts

I think the dazzel would look good, just prob be mistaken for modern art more often. Never knew the zero's had soob engines...I just got a kick out of them both being japanese. You'd have to have some real brass for that paint job, though! Personally, I could not disrespect our WWII vets that way.

not sure it'd be disrespecting our vets, although my grandpa might be tempted to shoot at it out of reflex... sometimes political correctness is annoying, in this case, the Sub-zero is only intended as tounge in cheek humor, self-effacing humor at that

You know, it is a good point though, I just watched a special recently on History about "The Real Pear Harbor" and I could see how it might bring back some painful memories for some of these poor guys.

But I have to say I lean more to the side of not wanting to worry about EVERYONE I might offend by what I paint my car as. I mean imagine if I do the Dazzel scheme and drive through NW portland! I might be cheered by one artsy type and booed by the rest LOL!

However I think the MOST fun I had in Missoula (where the rednecks & college kids from all over the country mix) was when I had my "rocket" styled PVC pipe carrier for my back-flow assembly testing business. I took a 10' long piece of 4" PVC made a nose cone outta 2 elbows cut down, and had fins around the end-cap. Got my brat lotta looks and I had a lot of business and I am SURE more than one anti-war type stared daggers at me.:lol::banana::Flame::Flame:

Well, I don't have a lot of cash for the paint anyway (had to spend that on frivolous things like a clutch, struts, axles & ignition switch :banghead::lol:) so at least I should have enough flat paint/primer left over to do a variation of the Swedish M90 military camo:

Leaving the green base for now and using my various light & dark gray primers/flat black and some left over bow paint from my shotgun's camo to add some different shades of tan/green. Mainly to cover the more troublesome areas after I POR 15 the rusty bits.

I eventually want it to be more of the winter style camo like that Swedish Skiier's Lambo, but for now gonna use up what I got.

P.S. I almost just put a white star (like GD's favored Korea era Army scheme) on the front and sides when the paint was in better shape, and it would have looked pretty sweet I think with the white "rocket" pipe carrier on back :burnout:

LOL yes!! better duck! grandpa's got the M1 out and look out!:dead:.

I agree, I wish more people could just laugh even at themselves and not look to be so offended by everything ... political correctness is often taken to the extreme and common sense goes out the window. :(

You're right, and I love that name...sub-zero!

It's a Japanese car, after all, and I just didn't know of any camo of theirs. Still think it would look better on Zap's car, though.
