:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

This last week I turned 10,000 miles on the motor I short blocked in Jan of 07, the motor had 144,000 miles on it, and just this morning I started it for the first time in about 4 days and It started..........the TOD. I am Pi$t.

I tried Seafoam but no change, Any other Ideas? ATF is what I'm going to try tomorrow, but man I hate for that thing to start that.............

i think your going the right way. start cheap.

if atf doesent work try oil pump seals and look for other major leaks.

if it still TODs then....get used to it or replace i guess.

at the lube shop the owners of these subarus would just dump heavier oil, worked untill the oil became well used...

you might try some lucas mabe. mine doesent TOD any more but lucas quieted up the over all running seeing how theyre loud any way.

Wait, I know the only possible solution... You must sell it to me :banana:

Jk, but seriously, I think you're on the right track, try the ATF. I run 15w40 oil in my cars, but thats because I get it for free at work... My mom's car had the TOD a little while back, a little seafoam and some high-rev pulls and it was back to normal...

I feel ya'. I replaced my entire engine and kissed off the renegade lifter from hell. Imagine my anxiety as I waited for the lifters to inflate on the 'new' used engine... it was kind of looking like I had traded one truly obnoxious lifter for 8 singer sewing machines under the hood... fortunately, once it got all warmed up and since that first start, all's quiet under the hood.

So far.
