Txakura
Just got a PM, we have another Loyale RS owner. He raised the question, are we the only two on the board with the RS?

Txakura
I don't understand the request for pics, 1990-1994 Loyale RS - this is the older car forum, pretty sure it was understood what I meant http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=101180 Edited July 11, 2009 by Txakura
GeneralDisorder
They were only made in '90 GD
Txakura
I'll be damned. The Loyale as a 3 door looking like the RX is present for a few years, I never realized the 'RS' was only in 1990. I swear this only confirms they were using up RX parts, the front air dam, spoiler and a few other bits... all the parts listings I hit, rock auto, 1st, schmucks, always have a listing for the 90-94 Loyale as a 'coupe' I never looked at any year but mine and noticed that there is no 'RS' in any other column once again I am shown that there is a lot to learn on this board does anyone know how many 1990 RS were made? how many were non turbo, and how many were turbo? no wonder it's gets so obscure to source new parts for the RS (even though we know they are the same as many other models)
Numbchux
all RSs were turbo. and, AFAIK, they were the only loyales that were. there is one here in Duluth that I've seen a few times, but it's pretty much rotted away to nothing.
GeneralDisorder
They were all turbo as far as I know. Push-button 5 speed's and automatic's I believe. They did not come with the FT4WD D/R w/locker that the RX had. I don't believe they were discontinued because they ran out of RX parts - they were discontinued because their "function" was replaced by the 91 Legacy SS - which became their rally platform till '93 when the Impreza came out. Flowmastered87GL
i saw a white RS once.... I think it was a non-turbo. I was like whats the point as I had previously looked at an 87 RX with 55K on it (now that was a fun test drive)
Txakura
that's the irony, I had never even heard of the RX until I joined this board, I thought the Loyale RS was... 'normal' (?) not necessarily something special, but not something that was uncommon or an oddity -btw- I still haven't seen an RX except on the bbs

'normal' (?) not necessarily something special, but not something that was uncommon or an oddity -btw- I still haven't seen an RX except on the bbs If you make it down to WCSS11 this year, you will see mine. And its even more rare because they only made black RX's in the last half of 89. Hey Chux, werent there some Turbo Touring Wagons made after 90? GeneralDisorder
Touring wagons, in the EA82 body style, were only imported in '89. There was the gen 1 Legacy Turbo Touring Wagons, but those were only made in 93/94. As far as I know, in 90/91/92 there was not a touring wagon option in the US. And no EA82T's of any kind were made after 90. GD

GeneralDisorder
Yeah - but there's no confirmation that it WAS a US car. Just like the EA81 touring wagon seen by NVZeno - clearly not a US market vehicle. Service-members often bring stuff like that back from other countries or it comes in from South America or Canada. According to all the sales literature I've ever seen, the EA82 touring wagon was for the '89 model year only. GD
SuperBrat
IM the other owner of the white 90 Loyale RS 2 door 4x4 on the board... They were made in 1990 red or white non turbo 5 speeds, owned a red one 15 years ago, only seen one other for sale in 15 years... back in ohio.... Numbchux
also, the legacy "touring wagon" as it's called, is not raised roof. just a turbo wagon. only the first gen GT is raised roof. and not [necessarily?] turbo. my dad has a '94 LGT with the raised roof. Correct - and none of the '94 GT's were turbo. They were all non-turbo 5 speed's. GD
