Rice Burner
I have a 2009 Impreza Outback Sport and was wondering if there was anyway to silence the seatbelt chime that comes on whenever you have your seatbelt off above 5mph. Any help would be appreciated. (this occurs for the driver and passenger)
Flowmastered87GL
fasten your seatbelt On my baja someone had already disabled it for me, but i recall something along the lines of turning the ignition on and buckling and unbuckling the belt mutiple times in succession. I cant confirm this works since mine was already done though :-\

DupermanDave
Doesnt the wiring just disconnect below the seat?
Flowmastered87GL
try this procedure... I dug it out of NASIOC Step 1. Sit in the driver's seat and close the door. Step 2. Insert the key in the ignition and turn to the "on" position (but do not start the engine). Step 3. Fasten and unfasten the seat belt 20 times within 30 seconds. Then, within 10 seconds, open and close the driver's door. Step 4. The chime will sound when you start the car, but it will not repeatedly sound if the seat belt is not fastened. etc
How do you do it on the 98 Legacy L?
davebugs
Tried it on an 06 Impreza today without success but it could be because when I got in the car she just HAD TO HAVE THE OTHER DOOR UNLOCKED she couldn't WAIT until I did the 30 second precedure. Anyone have a woman like that? How long did you keep her around? It's her car - I'm the one that doesn't wear the seatbelt and her son is too large for it to fit around. I didn't have the patience to try it again today. So I'd be curious on what years/models it works on.

I just tried this on my 2006 Outback and it works! Amazing! What I'd like to know is if this was intentional design by the folks at Subaru or if it was a more or less accidental hack that someone stumbled onto? shimonmor
Thank you!! That chime has been bugging me since we bought the 06 OBW. Now I can stop yelling at the chime to shut up.
