CAN YOU STILL GET THE SUB4 DUAL PORTS??!?! I thought they went out of business... I'd love to be able to get some stuff from them if its still available. BTW. thats an awful lot of carburetor for a tiny 1.8L, I hope it works out for you. -Mike
backinbrat
yeah, sadly SUB 4 went down, and these were the last set avalible from RAMengines, soz all you guys in the US, i snatched them from right under your nose! haha and im running open twin mikuni 36's at the mo (sounds bloody awesome! and well loud with the cherry bomb on the back as well!), and if you can get a pair of 45 DCOE's on a 1600 crossflow, and these ones which were on a 1600/1636 or woteva VDUB engine, then im sure these will be good, 40's are good for up to 2L's usually wanna get some of them trumpets on them, get them jetted up on my rebuilt block when that gets done, and the SUB4's on it, then webers on that, and a stainless 4 branch and full 2 1/4" / 1/2" system on it, then time to hit the track! haha! Gloyale
I know a local Aircraft Engine builder that has at least 5 factory Dual Carb manifolds and a bunch of special billet adapters for other dual carb setups for both EA81 and a few EJ22s. The guy also has about 60 stripped bare, cleaned and oiled low milage JDM EA81s and heads ready to rebuild. He is an old timer, the aircraft engine scene is not yeilding alot of business now, and he would like to sell some of this stuff. Kinda OT, but I thought it might be relavant. ANyhow, Nice work, and definately post some video with sound of that thing....please:slobber:
backinbrat
cor yeah mate! get hold of them duel carb manifolds!!! i would like one just cause i could, i would put it on my bedroom wall! LMAO!!! then build up another engine to put it on then do twin webers on what you woulkd usually convert to a single 32/36 that would be PIMP, im all for JDM and rareity, plenty of negative camber, a few inches off the floor, the odd pop and bang out the exhuast and going like ************ off a shovel! ideally i want some of them ramengine 12.5:1 compression pistons as well, that would be rood, and put one of the hot cams i got in it. maybe another day.... sad aint it, i get proper excited about chucks of metal that produce smoke, smell and sound....oh yeah, thats why i love it! hahaha! god knows how im gonna keep the new gf entertained! shes quite high maintainace!!!!!!! and yeah, will put some sounds on when i can, im not too proud atm, as its runnning SUPER rich, i.e black smoke, and the rings are blowing.....savagely! but still sounds sexy! hahaha!
