calebz
I was bored last night, so I took my spare plenum and freshened it up a bit.. Was considering painting it bright yellow to match my coil and wires (wires aren't on the car yet).. But its just so pretty that I don't know if I should...Except for the lettering, the two plenums were identical when I started. The smoothness really appeals to the eye Heres what the old one looks like.. PS.. Thanks to Skip for the idea

Meeky Moose
no paint! going to have to do that to mine, looks sweet!
Nug
Polish it real good and clearcoat it. they have a high-temp clearcoat-in-a-can that seems to work well. I am doing the intake, water manifold, and valve covers on my bugs ej22 like this.
ShawnW
Id use a real dark blue and put orange in the letters to make it stand out. That'd add 10 horse power.
Rooinater
buff and clear coat it! it looks sweet the way it is.

SuperRallyRoo
Austin and I polished mine up on a wheel and painted the letters gold. It looks pretty sweet...
electryc_monk
I'd also go for the polishing and clear coat orrrr (tongue in cheek) you could have it goldplated (smirks and ducks) polish it smoother... thought of polishing the inside too? calebz
Haven't gone so far as to polish the inside.. just wanted to do away with those ugly ridges around the top.. unsightly in my ever so clean engine compartment
Turbone
Hey Caleb, those are 2 different plenums. How much polishing did you need to do? Did it have ridges like the other 4wd one? Rob
calebz
Yup Rob. when I started, the two were identical, except for the lettering.. and the one I ground down was a lot dirtier and scruffier than the 4wd one was...was lots of fun.. did it by hand.. I was really bored I would have taken a before and after pic, but the before part didn't occur to me until after.
