swixtt
well, i'm pretty new to this site and have just finished pulling the engine and am replacing the Clutch Lever... old one completely cracked!! so cruising this site there is a tonne of info on here... what a great place! i really want to keep this GL 10 4x4 1986 running for winter use and it is exceptional for that. the problem i had in the winter was keeping the car running while cold. it's VERY difficult to start when she is cold, -5c and below. how do these carbs work??? is there a sensor that auto closes for choke function? any suggestions would be awesome so i can get it repaired before the cold comes again! thanks... i'll keep cruising and reading:)
GeneralDisorder
There's no sensor - the system is entirely mechanical. Check that the choke spring isn't broken. Very often the end with the hook bent into the spring so it can pull on the choke plate lever has worn through and fallen off. GD
